Note: Carbonation – the float is designed to operate at force carbonation pressures of 30 to 40 psi so you can install the float before you carbonate the keg.

Fill your keg. You can depressurize and open the lid if your keg is already filled or in use.

Sanitize the float with your preferred solution and drop into the keg.

First step of installing the Ball and Keg Level Indicator to your keg. Relieve the pressure on your keg and remove the lid. Sanitize the ball with bleach or some keg sanitizer and drop it into the keg. You can use a sanitized spoon or pair of tongs if you don’t want to touch the ball.

Look inside the keg to locate the float.

Use the orange side of the black disc magnet to draw the float over to the nearest side of the keg.

Second step of installing the Ball and Keg Level Indicator to your keg. Look inside the keg to locate the ball. Use the black disc magnet to draw the ball over to the side of the keg that is nearest to the float. Orient the black disc magnet so the orange bead is against the keg as shown below. The bead will be attracted to the keg because the magnet inside the keg is stronger than the black disc magnet.Third step of installing the Ball and Keg Level Indicator to your keg.Remove the black disc magnet and the orange bead will remain on the keg. You can move the float sideways around the keg using the black disc magnet so you have the float located in the desired location.

If your keg is not already located in your kegerator or chest freezer, leave the black disc magnet on the keg. Put the lid on your keg and move it into your kegerator or chest freezer. The black disc magnet will securely hold the float inside as you move the keg. Avoid abrupt movements or severe tilting as you move it.

Once the keg is in place in your kegerator, insert one of the orange indicator beads between the black disc magnet and the keg as shown below. The bead will be attracted to the keg because the magnet inside the keg is stronger than the black disc magnet.

Fourth step of installing the Ball and Keg Level Indicator to your keg.Carefully move the keg into your kegerator, avoid abrupt movements or tilting your keg as this may dislodge the orange indicating bead.

Remove the black disc magnet and the orange bead will remain on the keg. You can move the float sideways around the keg using the black disc magnet so you have the indicator located in the desired location for best viewing.

Fifth step of installing the Ball and Keg Level Indicator to your keg.Carefully move the keg into your kegerator, avoid abrupt movements or tilting your keg as this may dislodge the orange indicating bead.

Carbonate and use your keg as normal. As you pour beers, the orange indicating bead will slowly roll down the outside of the keg and will provide a continuous, accurate indication of the level. When the indicating bead hits the bottom weld on the keg, there will be approximately one beer left.

Sanitizing Tip (courtesy of Tom)

  1. Fill a container with sanitizing solution of choice.
  2. After the specified sanitation period required, place supplied magnet under container (works with solo cups, too) and push float down until magnet holds it in place.
  3. After everything is sanitized, simply pour out the sanitizing solution, tilt container over keg.
  4. Gently remove magnet allowing it to roll into the keg without being touched.
